EBAA Accreditation Board grants LEBR 3-year status
June 10, 2016
The Eye Bank Association of America's (EBAA) accreditation board has granted the Lions Eye Bank at Rochester a 3-year status for the recovery, tissue storage and final distrubiton of corneal tissue. This comes after the EBAA conducted an on site inspection of the eye bank in April of this year.
At least every three years a team of professionals with extensive experience in eye bank and/or corneal transplantation conduct on site inspections of eye banks to evaluate adherance to EBAA Medical Standards & procedures. This accreditation process meets or exceeds most state and national regulations and encourages public confidence in eye banking.
